Microbrasserie Pixel: Save Peach

This one’s a fairly short post! I’ve been busy reading and will have some more book reviews coming up this week. I’m liking the juxtaposition of the beer-blogging with the book-blogging so far; it gives me a chance to update m,y content more consistently! Please let me know what you think about it in the comments.

“Save Peach” by @pixelbrewing, a DIPA (Double IPA) with peaches. They’re a very small operation, currently using the facilities at @oshlag. This was another great Summer beer!

For an 8% DIPA, this is incredibly drinkable. No noticeable alcohol here! At only 35 IBU, this is a juicy and refreshing beer, though it may be a bit sweet for some (you should still give it a try). The peach really shines through! This is definitely a plus for me, because I find that when some brewers try to add fruit to something like an IPA, it makes a really weird and unpleasant contrast, ultimately harming the finished product. In this case, the fruit and hops don’t clash at all, and the harmony is delicious. Definitely pick this one up if you like fruit beers with a very well-defined fruit character to them. I’ll have to see what else this brewery is up to.

Bonne degustation!
