Where Did Bard Go?

Hi everyone!

I’m still here, still doing ok. I just wanted to take a moment to give you all an update, as I’ve been fairly quiet. To begin, our household is a-ok. Maggie (my partner) is working from home, and is in good health. Unfortunately, as I am considered an essential service, I am still making my way to the office in downtown Montreal on a daily basis. As Montreal is the primary hotbed of COVID-19 in Quebec, and I take public transit for my commute, this is not particularly reassuring to me. That being said, my workplace is taking measures over the next few weeks to implement a system by which I will be able to work remotely.

Please accept my sincere apology for not consistently producing content during these difficult times; my mind has not been in the right place, and we have been focusing on keeping our mental health at a reasonable level in our household. We are rapidly learning that the little things matter much, much more than we typically give them credit for.

I have been reading… slowly. I will have some reviews up soon for a few titles, and have even been approached by a few people about reviewing their work (which is immensely gratifying and appreciated). I am trying to work out a schedule so that I may produce content (reviews, interviews, Twitch streaming, YouTube vids, etc.) on a more consistent basis without diluting quality or neglecting my personal life. If you have any suggestions on what sort of literary YouTube content you’d like to see from me, I welcome your suggestions!

Please note that creative people need our help now more than ever in this crisis, as their livelihood depends on us, so please give them your support. Some have stepped up to give back, like Josiah Bancroft; he has stated on Twitter that he is giving 100% of his merch earnings to charity for the entirety of this year. Generous people like this deserve all the help we can give them, and there’s never been a better time to catch up on your reading.

Take good care of yourselves, and stay safe. We will get through this. Happy reading!
